Hot Meal Program

LCYC offers a nutritious hot meal, free to youth, every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 5:00 pm. Favorites include baked spaghetti, grilled cheese, taco in a bag, hash brown casserole, caesar salad, and veggies with dip. Fresh fruit is also available every night, courtesy of Sobeys Lloydminster.

Throughout the pandemic, we have been offering Dinner Thyme, which is a weekly home prep curbside delivery meal. Youth are able to create a meal in their own kitchen using the recipe, ingredients, and nutritional information provided in the kit. Youth improve their culinary skills and knowledge while preparing a complete meal for their family one day a week!

Youth Let’s Talk

Youth Let’s Talk is an educational program where members of the community come in to do a presentation to the youth on their area of expertise. Presentation topics vary and include healthy relationships, online safety, body image, drug awareness, community involvement, leadership, resume building and bullying. Teen Talks run the first and third Wednesday of each month.

Community Volunteering

It is important for us to give back to the community and we try to provide youth with as many valuable opportunities as possible! Each month we volunteer at ‘For The Interval’ Store and at the Lloydminster & District SPCA. Volunteering helps youth with skill development while they make connections in the community.

Annual Graffiti Clean-Up

One of our favourite volunteer projects takes place every summer. We have completed the sixth year of the Graffiti Clean-Up Project! Our partners this year were the City of Lloydminster, Home Depot, Art Soul Life, and the Lloydminster Native Friendship Center. Together, we beautified downtown Lloydminster by covering up affected grafitti areas with murals and artwork. We love the creativity this project provides! Last year’s project was behind Hot Peppers. This year’s project is the backside of Giant Tiger.

Luvin' My Lungs

Luvin’ My Lungs is an ongoing project intended to help youth and young adults reduce tobacco product use. Last year, LCYC worked with Narra Studios to create a video and this past year, youth created their own videos! The project allows youth to get creative and learn new technology skils as they produce harm reduction campaigns for their peers.

Vape Buy Back

We facilitate the Saskatchewan Health Authority Vape Buy Back program to help youth reduce tobacco product use. Youth can turn in a vape or vape product at LCYC and be entered into a monthly draw for a $20 gift card.

Summer Programs

We always look forward to the summer so we can get outside and explore many different places! Some of our favourite activities are golfing, paintballing, hiking, and trips to the beach! Check out some of the pictures from past summer adventures:
